Hi guys!

So I have a lot of manga I'm looking to sell. Most of them are in really great condition. I was wondering if anyone else has experience with this or hints on where to sell. Craigslist kind of creeps me out but I might give it a try. Does manga sell well on Amazon or Ebay? A friend told me manga has been on the decline and there wouldn't be any interest, is that true? I have a habit of thinking everyone loves all the same things I do hahah. Also if you've ever done this, how much did you sell them for? For individual ones I was thinking $4 or so, but I have a lot of sets and I'm not sure how I'll price those yet. I don't really like taking them to used book stores, they give you like a dollar and sell it to someone for $7 :(

Thanks in advance! I'd really appreciate any advice you have!

I've tried to sell them on eBay but it was hit or miss. Rare ones will sell on eBay if you have any rare ones. If you don't mind me asking, where do you live? I live in Santa Ana and there is a store in Westminster that buys books and I asked them if they buy manga. They said yes and I took mine there. I had a bunch like maybe 40 or so and I wanted to sell them because they were cluttering my shelf. They gave me about $125 for all of them. They were in great condition and it wasn't that bad of a price. But the only ones that I kept were the Neon Genesis Evangelion manga. Its the only manga that I love and also I have the rare Vol. 9 manga. Now its worth over $300. I should have bought all of them when I had the chance.

I'm in the Bay Area :( Thanks though! I don't think any of mine would be considered rare but I'll look into that too.

Just Google a book store that buys book. There should be some around there.

RLB- according to the Rules of Conduct:

7. No selling/trading. No direct sales. Please use other sites to conduct business.

That being said, I'd suggest posting in the facebook Forum Group. You may have better luck.

Sorry Bernard, I was only asking if other people had experience with this and could offer advice, I wasn't trying to sell to anyone here. My apologies :(

Forum Housekeeping:
Renamed the topic from "Advice on selling manga?" to "Advice on selling manga (to bookstores or on auction websites)?"
Moved from "Anime and Manga Chat" to "Off-Topic Chat." (The "Anime and Manga Chat" forum is mainly for discussing anime or manga series in general.)

Hope that clarifies it a little bit, so people won't think that it's a thread for direct sales on the forums. ^-^d

Ouch. The economy's pretty tough right now. If you can find some independent or small bookstores they may be interested in helping you.

I honestly don't know much about internet marketing but you may be able to do an etsy account or ebay or set up your own deviant art/build up a clientele. Good luck.

If you just want to get rid of them, try donating them to a library. They usually accept everything aside from porn (though you could still dump it at their doorstep).

Good luck!

I have a friend who owns a used manga shop, he'll probably buy most of them from you as long as they're in good condition. So my advice is - message me with titles and pricing, and I'll suggest a buyer

Libraries still take donations? My local library actually has a table where they give away books that ppl come in & dump off on them.
